Steak Tostadas with Guacamole and Pico de Gallo

Ingredients

For the meat:

  • 1½ lb beef (your choice of cut: flank, sirloin, etc.)
  • Salt to taste• Garlic powder to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Spanglish Asadero Carne Asada seasoning
  • Spanglish Asadero Taco seasoning
  • 2 tbsp oil

For the Tostadas:

  • 6 corn tortillas
  • Oil for frying

For the Pico de Gallo:

  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • ¼ white onion
  • 1 jalapeño (optional)
  • Cilantro to taste
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the guacamole:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. Cook the beef:In a hot skillet with oil, add the beef. Season with salt, garlic powder, pepper, and the Spanglish Asadero seasonings. Cook over medium-high heat until the meat is browned and fully cooked.
  2. Fry the tortillas:Fry the corn tortillas in hot oil until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  3. Make the pico de gallo:Dice the tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Mix in a bowl with lime juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. Make the guacamole: Mash the avocado, add lime juice, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  5. Assemble the tostadas:Spread a layer of guacamole on each tostada, top with steak, and finish with pico de gallo.
